Why Country Joe College-- an obvious Pseudonym? In offering this training to parents of struggling teenagers, I have chosen to use an assumed name for two reasons. The first is that I hold the old fashioned belief that ideas should stand or fall on their own merits regardless of where they came from. I realize that this is not the prevailing world view and I apologize to any who may be offended. The second and more personal reason is that I don' t trust my own internal discipline. Should the Language of Power reach the national stage, I may not be able to authentically handle the fallout. Success and media attention can be very seductive and I' ve seen others turn into completely different people after such exposure. Successful or not, I wish to remain just an ordinary Joe. I hope you will understand. However, you have the absolute right to review my professional record and so I am attaching both a brief and a more detailed description. County Joe College
